Summer’s fading away a lot faster than I would like and although I love Autumn, I’m not enjoying the cold weather quite yet. I mean, we’re having cold weather already and it’s not even close to mid-October! Let alone I’m missing that tan that I never got this summer…

Needless to say I’ve been faking my tan with the Chocolate Sun Self-Tanner on occasion, but mostly using bronzer and mineral powder that helps give me the glow. My weapons of choice are the Body Shop Bronzer and the Pure Anada Loose Mineral Glow Powder.

The Pure Anada Loose Mineral Powder

To be honest, I purchased this product by accident. A happy accident. I wanted to get a finishing powder, but failed to notice that it had the name glow in it. I was hoping for a matte look but this has actually worked out really well. Prior to the Pure Anada Loose Mineral Glow Finishing Powder I was using the W3ll People Altruist Foundation Powder which worked well, but was much heavier than I wanted (and pricier.)

Pure Anada is a brand that I’ve spoken about a lot. It’s one of those natural brands that’s not only made in Canada 🇨🇦 but also super affordable. Their products are available directly from their website, or on Well.ca.

How does the Pure Anada Loose Mineral Glow Finishing Powder perform?

This is a very lightweight finishing powder, you can’t expect it to really do much more than, well… finish. After applying foundation this powder adds a really nice somewhat airbrushed look to your skin. It adds a nice light shimmer (without being too much) to make your skin look like it has a nice healthy shine to it.

That being said, if you have oily skin I would avoid this like the plague. I have combination skin and I do find that on patches that are a little bit more oily it can look very oily. Like my chin and nose especially. On especially warm days I do feel the need to blot my skin in order to make it look a little less like a grease pit.

I thought I was a big fan of matte foundation and powders, but after using this I have really fallen for the look. It seems to make me look a little more healthy and as if I’ve had 8 hours of sleep when in reality I’ve only caught about 5 hours (thanks to dogs snoring and a very active nocturnal fetus… Or is it considered an actual baby after the Second Trimester?)

The ingredient list for the Pure Anada Loose Mineral Powder is pretty short and sweet!

  • Mica. Used for colouring, it’s a type of silicate mineral and the composition can vary.
  • Boron Nitride. Helps to provide a luminous glow and can help absorb excess oils.
  • Silica. Essentially a very fine version of sand, it is used to help blur fine lines and pores. It also absorbs excess oils and acts as an opacifying ingredient.
  • Iron Oxides. Used for colouring.
  • Ultramarines. Used for colouring – Pure Anada is Cruelty-Free and Vegan so there is no worry about the colouring being derived from insects.

Will I repurchase the Pure Anada Loose Mineral Powder?

More than likely! I had no idea that they offered other sizes than the 3g (tester) which I picked up from Well.ca for $12.00 CAD. Their largest size is 10g and retails for $25.00 CAD. But I’m glad that I had the ability to give the smaller size a try just to see if I liked it. (You can also order samples from their website for $1.00 each!)

With Green Beauty becoming more popular (if I say so myself) there’s a lot of brands that over charge for their branding. It’s nice to find a brand that has reasonable pricing for their products and doesn’t gouge simply because they’re a more natural & better option. Pure Anada is quickly becoming one of my favourite makeup brands!
