Over the past few years I’ve been quite candid about the state of my underarm affairs regarding their (sometimes excessive) amounts of sweat and smell. So if you’ve been a long-time reader then you are no stranger to the plethora of deodorants and anti-perspirants I have reviewed including brands like Tom’s of Maine, Clean Kiss Organics and even the Crystal Natural Deodorant, to name a few.
Today however, we are going to talk about a potentially game-changing product to hit the clean beauty market. A natural, aluminum-free anti-perspirant.
This comes as no surprise, but I have been a huge fan of Green Beaver’s products for a while. Their Castile Soap is my absolute favourite household product; I use that sh*t for everything. I also had a great experience with their toothpaste－though I wish it was packaged more sustainably. Thus, I expect nothing but great things from their release of a highly anticipated natural antiperspirant.
Verve is described as a blend of Jasmine, Citrus, Geranium and May Chang. It’s a light, floral scent that somehow vaguely reminds me of baby powder. Ironically, I hate the scent of geranium… so I am unsure as to how I decided that this scent would be the one to order.
The Green Beaver antiperspirant is formulated with NaturaDri™️ technology, it is COSMOS certified and of course, aluminum-free. So let’s take a look at the ingredient breakdown to get an idea of what really packs a punch in this product.

So… does it work?
I was so excited to try the Green Beaver antiperspirant that I purchased this as soon as it was available. I’ve been using it for nearly three months now－to provide you with a very honest and accurate review, but also because I’ve been procrastinating writing this post…
I am most certainly biased, but the scent was not exactly my favourite. Luckily, the Green Beaver antiperspirant is available in five different scents; three “feminine” and two “masculine” fragrances.
- Bliss: Coconut and Vanilla (yum!)
- Verve: Jasmine, Citrus, Geranium and May Chang.
- Escape: Lemon, Orange, Vanilla and Kumaru
- Voyage: Eucalyptus, Patchouli and Kumaru
- Freedom: Clove, Palmarosa, Peppermint, Bergamot and Cilantro
Something that I have become accustomed to after using natural deodorant is a slight tacky or sticky feeling after application. The Green Beaver antiperspirant does not leave my underarms feeling this way－it is exactly like applying an antiperspirant that contains aluminum. With a powdery, dry feeling.
Throughout the day…
The Green Beaver antiperspirant holds its own by keeping excess sweat at bay. About halfway through the day, even though my underarms felt dry, I sometimes smelled a blend of my sweat mixing with the fragrance of the antiperspirant. I’m not exactly sure how this works or whether I am just hyper-aware of my sweat (because I have osmophobia!) Either way, I am quite impressed with the overall effectiveness.
There is one caveat that I dislike about this product－though I am sure that it is of no concern to the average person.
I actively search for products that are packaged sustainably or readily recyclable. While the Green Beaver antiperspirant comes in a white plastic which can be recycled, providing it has been thoroughly cleaned and the rest of the recycling at the facility has not been contaminated. I would prefer if it were available in more sustainable packaging like aluminum or glass which can be recycled indefinitely.
That being said though, I do thoroughly enjoy this product. I am very excited that a Canadian company has been able to successfully create an aluminum-free antiperspirant that works! I will most definitely be adding “Bliss” to my next Well.ca order.
What is your favourite antiperspirant scent?
